The Tennessee Center for Nursing (TCN) is an independent statewide nursing workforce center whose mission is to guide the ongoing development of an appropriate nursing work force, to conduct nursing work force analyses, to propose recommendations for nursing education and practice reform, to disseminate findings and recommendations, and to develop an ongoing system to address nursing workforce needs to meet the current and future healthcare needs of all Tennesseans.

The Tennessee Clinical Placement SystemSM (TCPS) is a program aimed toward TCN’s goal to strengthen healthcare education in Tennessee. This program brings clinical facilities and schools of nursing together from across the state to streamline the placement of students in healthcare facilities for learning opportunities. The TCPS offers three major services: an online database of clinical placements, online general and facility orientation for students and faculty, and a foundational evaluation program for research and further development of the system.
