Maureen Ann Nalle been an Assistant Professor and Coordinator of Continuing Education at the University of Tennessee College of Nursing since 1991. Her duties include teaching responsibilities at the graduate and undergraduate levels as well as instructing in diverse courses such as nursing research, pediatric nursing and health promotion for advanced practice nurses. Some other of Dr. Nalle’s professional achievements include serving as a Clinical Specialist, Certified Lactation Consultant for East Tennessee Children’s Hospital in Knoxville, TN from 1988 to 1991 and as a Senior Instructor for the U.S. Army Reserves, Academy of Health Sciences in San Antonio, Texas from 1984-1987. Dr. Nalle received her BSN in Nursing from Niagara University, Niagara Falls, New York, her MSN in Maternal-Child Health from University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio, Texas and her PhD in Health Education from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, TN. In addition to her education and work experience Dr. Nalle has a wide variety of Association memberships including the American Nurses Association, The Tennessee Nurses Association where she currently holds the office of President, Sigma Theta Tau, National Honor Society for Nursing and the American Public Health Association. Not only does Dr. Nalle have an outstanding record as a community volunteer for numerous organization, but she has also has been recognized with several awards including Outstanding Parent-Child Nurse Award from the Tennessee Nurses Association, November 2001, the Scholarship Award - District 2, Tennessee Nurses Association, April 2000 and the Award for Outstanding Graduate Student Research, College of Human Ecology, Department of Health, Leisure and Safety Sciences in April 1997.
